After achieving SOC2 Type 1 compliance last year, we further vetted our security systems via the significantly more granular external SOC2 Type 2 audit process. Today, we’re proud to announce that Edgefolio has achieved SOC2 Type 2 accreditation.

What SOC2 Type 2 compliance means

SOC2 (System and Organization Controls 2) is a rigorous framework that assesses an organisation’s security controls. Developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), SOC2 has become a critical benchmark in today’s rapidly shifting data privacy landscape, emerging as an essential benchmark for demonstrating an organisation’s trustworthiness with sensitive data. 

While SOC2 Type 1 compliance demonstrates that an organisation has the right processes in place, SOC2 Type 2 compliance goes many steps further, verifying that those controls are not only in place but are operated effectively.
